A History of//Photographs

As part of the publication i want to include photographs of the different vehicles for this i wanted to go out and take them myself, firstly to practice and improve my photography skills and to get used to using my own material for all my work.
I also wanted to do some design work that included photography.
For getting the photos i went to two different VW festivals and then some local car dealers that had VW campers and vans.
Going to the car garages was a experience as they were either really willing for me to take pictures or others were hasty and wouldnt leave me alone whilst taking the photo, all was a good experience though!

For the local garages, i visited 3 garages and a VW specialist restoration garage:

After this i went to a VW Festival in Leeds:

And last of all i visited another VW Event in Halifax:

Having all these photos was firstly a good source of primary research but also provided me with lots of content for my publication and enough to choose from for it all. I was happy with the effort and the pictures that came from it.
Now it was time to choose and edit them.

So for the publication i needed photos for each section of the generation booklets and then for the culture and introduction booklets, i was aiming to use 1 or 2 images a page depending on which booklet or how much information i had for each spread. Here are the edited photos i will be using for each booklet:
